Another bass trap idea

Many people have talked about using large tubes of fiberglass pipe insulation as bass traps, and one of the theories is that they are too dense to absorb enough bass.
Would a tube of carpet stuffed with fiberglass work? I was thinking of something with a thin backing and short weave. 2 or 3 plywood discs would help it hold its shape, and it might have a decent WAF factor.
