We are just finishing off a new home. My hifi room is a 13X18 basement room with 7'8 rear ceiling height and 8'8 front; windows to the front, backwall floor to ceiling bookcase. The walls were insulated with OC materials, and plenty of fiber glass in the ceiling. Will put in a wood floor and halfwall wood wainscoating.The ceiling is presently covered by sheetrock.
Here are my questions;
1. Pull the sheetrock and replace with accoustic tiles (2x2 grid)
2. Install tiles with sheet rock in place
3. Leave as is (sheetrock)I'm also concerned about aesthetics; if I go with the accoustic tiles, are there nicer products than the commercial applications?
Thanks!
