Ceiling Treatment

I'm about to add more absorption on my first wall reflection points for the additional speakers I added last year. I've experimented with my front speaker 1st order reflection points using diffusion vs. absorption and have finalized my decision to use the absorption. To me it seems to tighten up the localization more than the diffusion does.

I currently have BAD panels on the ceiling for my 1st order reflection points for the front left and right speakers and am hoping for some input on whether I should finish up the rest of the 1st order reflection points with BAD panels or if I should switch them all to absorption? Will I get the same tightening of the localization with ceiling placement of absorbers, or are the psycho-acoustics involved in human perception different for ceiling reflections?

At most I would have to replace two of the previous BAD panels on the ceiling in order to cover the important areas, so it would not be a huge expense to switch them. It would however be too difficult to switch them back and forth and try both on the ceiling before deciding, as this would mean buying both and paying for installation help, etc.

I switched my setup to full surround playback at this point, so I'm not worried about losing two channel liveness if it means more precision and lifelike quality to the surround playback. I'm looking for some hard facts on this issue.

My ceilings are 9' high, in case the added perception of height by using one over the other is significant in this situation...
