It's actually exactly the same formula as mine. Ethan has merely changed the location of my "c" (his Y) and transposed my "a" and "b" (his X1 and X2) at one point so that it's calculating from the plane of the listening position instead of the speaker plane. The calculation process in both cases is exactly the same.
