Besides David's good comments, I'll add that once a room is treated properly, music sounds much better and less irritating. So you can play things much louder and the sound is full and rich rather than harsh. Before I set up my HT and treated my living room, my wife was always complaining for me to turn it down. Now she's the one who grabs the remote and cranks it!
