Here is a not-too-expensive trick for making the RPTV disappear that has worked for me. I have four ASC sound panels (each is 8 inches wide and four feet tall) that I lean against the front of my RPTV when listening to music, and move out of the way when watching TV. It takes ten seconds total to move them in and out of position. The effect on the soundstage depth and imaging is astonishing. You can probably build some DIY panels if you have the inclination, time and skill.
