GCC-250 Volume Control Question

The volume control on my GCC-250 lost its ability to control the volume a couple of months ago (i.e., you turn it and nothing happens volume-wise). In a way, this is not such a big deal, since I can still adjust the volume via the remote control.

However, I was wondering if there might be an easy way to fix the volume knob on the unit itself. Does it just pull off? I've been reluctant to try this for fear of actually breaking something.

BTW - this is a wonderful amp IMHO - I'm very happy with the sound.
