UPS Backup for brief power outages

Gents,

I have been experiencing numerous brief power outages due to the prolonged crummy weather we have been having here in Vancouver.

I have been thinking of putting a UPS between the wall and my P500... APC makes a cheapo 1500VA model (BR1500) which should suffice unless I'm really pushing the volume... is this audio suicide? Are there different options I should look at for brief (less than 30 second) outages?
