Hi. I'm back again.

I had sent my power transformer out to Paraline, and they were kind enough to revarnish and bake it. They also load tested it to see whether it was still humming. Basically, what they found was that the tranformer itself was quiet, but the copper cover on it was rattling. They really recommend removing that cover. Does it serve any shielding purpose, or is it mainly cosmetic?
