Hi all,
Let me explain you my problem, and sorry for my bad english gramma.
I live in Spain and I own the Joule Electra VZN-100 OTL monoblock amplifiers. However they are originally 110/120V units that I feed directly from a dedicated power line outlet through a 220-110V autoformer. It is a 2000W autoformer, a Seven Star (TC-2000M model).
My incoming power fluctuates fastly in few minutes several volts up and down, so I cannot keep the Joules in his ideal working voltage values both for the same amps and for the bias setting of each power tube.
As a result, and looking for a power conditioner or voltage regulator that could fix this problem, I have got interested in the PS audio power plant premier. I really need to know if that product would be really the perfect solution to my problem. But, here is the question : Does it would be better to use a 220/240V unit BEFORE the 220-110V autoformer or a 110/120V unit to use AFTER the 220-110V autoformer and then plug there my Joule amps?. I really don't know but I think in the first case I could have more problems since the PPP can only feed until 1500W in requirement power, and the VZN-100 amps are 800W (400W each one) but in this case there is te 2000W autoformer in the middle so I think the PPP could not be enough. Let me know if I'm correct in this assumption.
I have seen that the older units like the P600 or the P1000 could be feeded with 220V input and provide a 110V output voltage. That would be really the ideal solution for my case since I could even forget about the 220-110V autoformer I'm using right now. It's a pity the PPP does not allows to do it.
Thanks in advance for your advice and help.
Pep
