Hi Amdan,
Just wondering how much improvement you saw when you had the dedicated lines installed? My power quality here in Sydney is dreadful, my PPP often indicates incoming THD above 6% of an evening and, despite the PPP, the system only comes onsong when the incoming THD is below 4% (almost never)! In this respect I've found the PPP less reliable than the old P500, which was less affected by variation in the incoming AC.
I am now also using a Powerbox from Cawsey in Melbourne for pre-filtering the PPP. This was an important improvement for my system as it was the first time since the PPP arrived that I found my system ALWAYS sounded enjoyable (although it still really shines only occasionally as per above). Some strange observations though. Before the Powerbox I used to follow the output THD for some indication of how my listening was likely to shape up, but with the Powerbox I find the output THD hardly indicative at all, but the incoming THD more informative.
Did your electrician give you a general power quality audit? I believe I have some DC issues as well in this house. I get component hum with the PPP that I never had with the P500.
cheers,
Paul
