Using a PS Audio 5.0 for phono and tape

I will be bringing a 5.0 back to the US next month to use as a phono stage and to support two tapes. First of all - what a fantastic piece this still is, and a big bravo to PaulMC, who's still posting here I see. I've been using this piece overseas on and off and it's in remarkable condition. The only thing I've had to fix since 1986 or so is the contacts in the switches and nothing else has failed - truly remarkable (yes, the unit has been on 24x7 all these years).

So the question is - how good is its phono section compared to today's pure phono sections around $1500 to $2000? I want to plug this piece into an all-Spectral system and the requirements are obviously very high.

Also - does Cullen Circuits still service those if necessary?
