Hello,
A couple of weeks ago I purchaed a Power Plant Premier, and similar to another thread further down, the unit cut voltage from 118 to 93 volts and added about ten percent more harmonic distortion than that on the line. The dial underneath the unit didn't help the output voltage problem. My dealer dealt with the issue, and PS Audio dropped shipped another unit which I received last week.
While I am happy about PS Audio shipping me another unit, the new unit also is cutting my output voltage by about 12 volts. I noticed the dial underneath would not do anything with this unit either, but if the dial is pulled in one direction it will start working and adjust the voltage properly. When I let go of the dial, it goes right back to cutting the output voltage. I can tape the dial in one direction and the proper output voltage will stay until the tape loosens.
It seems to me that PS Audio needs another step in its quality control process to check the voltage output. If the dial is being tweaked during shipping, then a better mechanism should be engineered into the unit.
I guess I need another unit shipped to me, but I would like it checked out first before being shipped. I live thirty minutes from the Fedex center and would like to avoid having to lug another unit back for return shipping.
Alan
