Thank, Paul. I'm using the dubbing outputs as I'm
getting more volume out of them (but I don't know why).
Is that still a passive circuit?

I may also have mentioned that I'm hearing absolutely
no difference between power on and power off as long
as the outboard power supply remains plugged in. Is
that to be expected when using the dubbing outputs?

I finally found the resisters on the board and replaced
the 5 ohm with 47 ohm. Going to try 100 next. And I
do have the adjustable VTAF on the Rega/Sota rig, so
I'll continue to experiment with VTA. I'm actually
starting to enjoy the process of dialing it in.

What would be a recommended resister value to experiment
after 47 ohm?
