Cut the Power Cords?

Hello, as I have a Power Director in the rack of my system, really I don't need power cords longer than 1 meter.
So, there is any problem to cut one 2m. cable into two pieces of 1m each? This shorter cables could lost his sound quality (obviously using same quality plugs and IEC)?
