Paul, help! P300 or P500?

Dear Paul, and fellow audio nuts,

I have followed some your responses in various threads with interest. I recently tried a P300 (MW1) in my system (EAR834 tube phono, passive pre or Melos 222 tube pre, Ah! tube CD, Manley tube mono's). I was very impressed! However it's physical dimensions are problematic in my setup. Question:

Are there any sonic advantages, in my setup, to using the P500 instead of the P300? I don't expect to be able to use the P500 with my Manley's anyway (correct me if I'm wrong), but the P500 sure would make locating the PP a lot easier. If there are no sonic advantages, in my setup, to using the P500 instead of the P300, I would bite the bullet and stick with the P300. Also, would a P300 with MWII obviate the need for my SDS for my VPI? I would greatly appreciate any clarification and/or recommendations.
