Thanks very much for your response! Actually, I DIY most of my system. For the source, I use computer as a transport with everything ripped into hard disk. I built my amplifier with class D amps and my preamp is Tube GG preamp. I have noticed that when I listern to music during the dinner time when all the air conditioning in the whole building is switched on and everyone is at home (I live in an appartment), the sound is really bad, but my system sounds great during the weekends when most of the appartments are empty. I concluded that this is becasue so many families are using the household devises which generate a lot of noise in the power lines. So my move is to invest on power conditioner.
one thing I am not sure is how much EM is generated with the power cable running at 50Hz. Some of my equiptment has a SMPS with a switching frequency at >1M Hz. I actually do not believe that the power cord for PPP will make any difference as long as it can carry sufficient current.
