Having regenerated power doesn't do anything to protect various components and cables like speaker cables from picking up EM noise radiated by power cords.Whether you will find a $500+ power cord to be worth the investment is a very personal thing and dependent on your system. Some people swear by them and some can't hear a difference. It's my belief that there are a other things on which you can spend a few thousand dollars (not hard to do if you put expensive power cords on all of your components) that will improve your system more. Unless the rest of your system is already where you want it to be, I'd suggest a good, basic cord like PSA's Power Punch or Prelude SC. I believe speakers, cables (especially speaker cables), and amps all have more influence on your system's sound. If you have really nice products in those areas, then expensive power cords may be a logical next step. But if you're using zip cord or Monster Cable for your speaker cables and the cheap interconnects that come with your components, it doesn't make sense to spend top dollar yet on power cords.
Your questions reveal that you haven't researched these issues. I have to wonder about spending $2K on an AC regenerator before doing your homework. In any case, do some research before spending any more money. Everyone has his own opinion on these matters and what you're doing is trying to get someone to tell you what to do/buy without doing your homework. The end result of such an approach is that the equipment you buy will depend more on whom you happen to ask than any consideration of your individual needs and goals. That's a pretty foolish to approach building a great audio system and spending thousands of dollars in the process. IMO
