Your listed system shows that you use a passive attenuator for a volume control.

Adding a second pair of ICs will increase the high frequency loss that you may already be suffering from by doubling the shunt capacitance.

What is the resistive value of your attenuators?

How many pF per foot are your cables and how long are they?

The HF loss can be calculated.
