That makes sense. Unfortunately I think the typical usage here is to just use the notion of DBT's as a tool for insulting one another. Asking if you've performed an 'adequate' DBT to confirm what you "claimed" to have heard is just saying that I think you are an unreliable observer at best, a liar at worst.
Oddly enough doing something as innocent as finding a cable that works better in your system often invokes these sort of demands but spending a pile of money on it rarely does. I think a really interesting DBT would be not of the A-B variety, but rather to guess the price of each one heard...
