Hi.

IMO, "resolution" comes in sonically & musically.

(1) Sonically:- transparency, airliness, live size imaging & soundstaging, being-there feeling

(2) Musically:- performers' skills, feeling & emotion to express the mood of the music.

Frankly, it is not easy to get a system that can deliver all the above virtues given commercial recording qualities available nowadays.
