Thanks for trying.

I think you are right and have only found one amp that fits the bill, but it is a pass alaeph J and well puts me right back where I am. Too hot and too much power draw....

I was thinking of your advice and there are some 2 channel amps with vcs on them that I could use for the subs.

Those drivers are about 4db more efficient than the mains, so I will have to adjust the volume on some level.

I may have to ditch my balanced requirement or just put up with volume control of some kind.

If only I could just have a cdp a tube pre an amp and enjoy passive crossovers!
