Nothing is perfect.
There are actually some here who believe otherwise. :)

Understood. Many are not entirely plug 'n play compatible. Van Alstine had to change the compensation network around his FET-5 preamp because of differences between the 301 and the 356 chips.
Life, or at least engineering, is a rich pageant of trade-offs.
Amen to that.
