No one hears components, cables or tweaks.
I didn't say that. Each is quite capable of changing the electrical circuit or the acoustic soundfield to the point of audibility. You know that too. Please note to the point of audibility . Just because some audiophool changes something and "hears" it doesn't mean they have changed the soundwave. What separates the Audiophile dentist, chemist, software writer, architect, etc. from those is good mental health is that they cannot separate objective reality from subjectivity, as has been pointed out numerous times. If they kept the two separate, all would be fine. But they can't. They believe that their psychogenic experiences are also being projected into the soundwaves occurring in physical reality. Whether you want to attribute this to mental weakness or illness is irrelevant to me.
Are you going to do a report so the rest of us can vicariously enjoy it?
If you haven't gathered this by now, I not much into stroking and gushing onto computer screens about what I heard. There should be plenty of others reporting on the show more willing and able to do so. I'm just going to have a little fun and drag something I cobble together this weekend for others to judge. It will not be representative of what I would design for an acoustically small space like a living room, but will reflect more what I think will be appropriate for the event setup, space...and tastes.
cheers,
AJ
Funny thing, in Audiophile circles if you can hear things others cannot, you are revered, in society, you are sent for treatment.
