You know the typical golden ear bellowing after listening to 14 seconds of a song "Those new unobtanium wires make such a HUGE difference that even my Monster-in-Law could hear them while doing the dishes on the other side of the wall" (a tip of my hat to ultra-golden ear Teresa).
The purpose of a single or double blind test is to significantly reduce the possibility that a golden ear is mistaken and/or just saying what he believes, rather than what he really hears.
If one person SAYS he hears a difference, then we have a claim to test using the same song and the same stereo.
It's that simple (and, of course, WAY over YOUR head)
The blind test is just a BS detector for audiophiles.
So far a lopt of BS has been detected.
