So if the output powers were really equal, a SE design that would be rated at 5% THD sounds better than a SS rated at 0% THD!

He seems to suggest that it is below clipping here but it is not totally clear to me.

In this case approximately 3% of the samples exceeded the reference voltage.

Does this mean that these were the distortions below clipping and that 3% of the samples were clipping?
