Helpful as usual, Dan - thanks. Isn't Vans Evers the guy who offers and elaborate "room tuning" system that has no sound absorption or LEDE elements, but purports to tune the room "harmonically"?
The link was helpful. However, I did some research before rewiring the sond system part of my house and found that the National Electrical Code and industry practice strongly caution against the use of earth grounds for anything except lightning protection. An earth ground is not in any way a substitute for a connection to the service ground in your breaker/utility box, and if an earth ground is substituted for that (often noisy) service ground none of your GFI outlets will work properly. Also, if an earth ground alone were used on a device like a power amp with am polarized plug, it's possible that the chassis and case could be live w/r/t ground without tripping your breaker.
In short, earth grounds can be a useful adjunct to a service ground (I've had mixed results) but absolutely cannot be your only equipment ground.
Sorry to lecture, but while some music may be "to die for", this hobby is not.
