Haven't been to Vintage in a long time (hence my belief that he had stopped posting) though it seems there is more valuable technical discussion transpiring there than here. Could be because there is less bile washing about.

Perhaps it is a difference in the meaning of a particular phrase but, though I found the "sermon" excellent, I still find it a grand leap for you to link that series of statements that Bold Eagle made to giving someone a "lecture." The expression on this side of the pond means to berate someone. From my reading of the thread you linked to, that would hardly be the case.

Many times, though most of the anti-subjectivists around here would disagree, the problem at the heart of any disagreement can be reduced to semantics, or interpretation. When combined with a natural distrust of those who dismiss others easily, that makes for a heated argument about....nothing.
