It's a question most objectivists try to dodge because they either don't know or they do know and are fully aware of the double standard they are trying to sell. They won't trust *anyone's* ears when the results run contrary to their beliefs but they will trust thier ears when they believe the results will not be in conflict with their belief system. Indeed it is quite the double standard.
