How interesting... And an undocumented LTspice Fn to boot, can't beat that!

I wonder if it's about optimizing the transition to class B or linearity at the origin. Or both. Or perhaps it's more along the line of minimizing Zout by balancing Iq with Beta drop off. I do like the idea of considering the incremental output impedance as well. That's the very sort of thing that might make a sonic difference yet hide from normal testing or analysis.

Thanks for the food for thought. You can tell from my simplistic views that I've never designed a Hi-Fi power amp. I may indeed hit you up for the PDF's at some point in time. Meanwhile, it seems like the key is to set the VRe~24mV...
