Presto,

Talk about an overgeneralization? I never said or hinted that "Heating everything up" is required for better sound. I'm not trying to be a smarta$$. I just wanted you to understand I didn't mean I thought that heating up everything causes sonic improvements! Fact is too much heat is the enemy of most electronics, no?

I have noticed that to my ears almost all tube amps many of solid state components "sound better" after 20-60 mins of being warmed up or playing. Now with tubed amps this all made sense to me however, with the solid state amps I haven't noticed any common factor such as all being Class A, over X amount of watts, MOSFETS, Bipolars etc. that would explain why I believe I'm hearing an improvement. For Example: I owned an Audio Analogue Puccini that literally had to be powered on all the time ---{in fact it's power switch was on the back so you'd leave it powered on all the time}--- or it just didn't sound very good. It was a small 40W/ch integrated amp that didn't really have any special circuitry but, hot damn when warmed up could it ever sing!

I've read some great responses here that make good sense and the reasons given seem like they would be measureable and verifiable.

Thanks,
