It takes about five minutes for the voice coils to warm up.The T/S parameters will change about 5 - 10%
People rarely notice a problem because it's probably not audible.
But now that I mentioned it people will be absolutely HORRIFIED by how bad their stereos sound in the first five minutes of use.
Barry Manilow will sound like Frank Sinatra, Frank Sinatra will sound like Bob Dylan, Ella Fitzgerald will sound like Madonna, and then EXACTLY at the five minutes of listening point, perfect sound quality will commence (at least for MY fine stereo -- probably not for YOUR Bogen PA tube amp and Blose Acoustimess Shriekers.
Audio equipment sounds best when your ears are fresh and you are relaxed, IMHO.
For me that's the first song.
But then I've been retired for over three years, so am always relaxed, except when YOUR @#$&$@ subjective malarkey posts get me all worked up into an objectivist frenzy!
The first ten minutes of music sounds the best.
Your belief that music sounds better after 20 to 60 minutes is most likely subjective MALARKEY ... however only the listener can decide when the sound quality of his stereo and his mood are "in the zone"?
This effect probably differs among audiophiles depending how how quickly an individual can relax, forget about the day, and focus on the music, ... which may depend on how fast the guy consumes his favorite alcohol and/or illegal drugs!
