Three decades of testing so far:
No one has ever been able to prove to witnesses that he possessed sufficient hearing acuity to differentiate between any two speaker cables or interconnects intended for audio use, of normal lengths, with SPL's matched if necessary, while listening to music in a normally reverberant room.
Nothing else matters.
We all know wires measure differently.
We also know no one can hear the differences when tested.
Yes I know someone has compared 30 feet of 24AWG wires with 30 feet of 12AWG wires and people did hear SPL differences. And when A-B SPL's were matched, some listeners did hear sound quality differences. But to get a minority of listeners to hear any difference at all, triple the normal 10ft. length was used AND 24AWG wire that's much thinner than the thinnest speaker wire ever recommended for hi-fi use (16AWG zip cord) was used. Even then most of the listening panel did not hear a difference!
