If it's the latter, a couple possibilities:

1) Your system isn't "revealing enough" for you to hear the (amp in the new house) said environment, which I imagine has different electrical wiring, outlets, neighborhood transformers, carpet dielectric, RFI, sunspots, etc, etc.
(forget trivialities like acoustics).

2) You haven't allowed for enough "burn in" of all the above.

3) You merely possess human like auditory memory.

4) You're deaf

5) 1, 2, 3 & 4....6 and 7 yet TBD
