Hello Again Richard.
Personally I find it extremely amusing to see how the one person here who seldom, if ever, actually discusses audio, prefering instead to constantly berate & disparage others ---as if he could possibly know the truth one way or the other--- is the one who actually needs to make up stories about what other people have done or heard! Seen under the light of truth his comments about others "supposedly" resorting to retroactively making up stories about hearing things or performing "tests" is revealed as just being a desperate attempt to defend his audio religous beliefs at all costs when the beliefs he holds so dear are shown as being questionable or ludicrous!
Seems it bothers him terribly that myself and perhaps others here have listened to pro solidstate crap that he loves, like Crown, QSC, & Crest etc and all of them sounded like pure unadulterated crap when used in a home audio system. I can prove I've stated this or some variation of this on more than a couple occasions starting as far back as Nov 2006. For Example:
1) January 15, 2007 As far as Crown, QSC, & Crest are concerned I've looked and listened to all 3 in a home audio system when I used to play in a garage band! All 3 sounded like pure unadulterated crap when used in a home audio system.

2) February 14, 2008 In any event one day I had him bring his Crown DC-300A over and we replaced my OCM 200 with the Crown. (and) In addition it sounded very bright and harsh ---so much so my friend believed he damaged his amp somehow on the way over to my house. I then replaced the Crown DC-300A with the OCM 200 once again and BINGO everything went back to exactly how it was before, deep, wide soundstage, with excellent imaging and no harshness or brightness at all!

3) November 8, 2006 After hearing a Crown IC-150 and some of their other amps my friends in Connecticut and I would refer to them as Clowns! Why? Because we considered their sound to be a joke.

4) May 30, 2007 This time the setup consisted of Crown DL-2 preamp, Crown PS2 poweramp, Crown EQ2 equalizer with a technics turntable and Klipsch La Scala speakers! Once again I thought the system sucked with a soundstage the went bearly from one speaker to another. Not beyond either speaker at all and no depth whatsoever.

5) June 1, 2007 I've heard, i.e. BGW, Crest, Crown & QSC pro audio amps. However all these amps shared what I've come to call "pro solid state sound" This can best be described as being dull/lifeless, flat soundstage, harsh, highly fatiguing sound.
Now that the truth has been revealed about who really makes up stories here ---the guy from the Tampa area--- lets all hope he doesn't go berserk in the south central Florida area! Most likely he'll just go out and torment some more dogs on chains and take away some baby's candies ---all in the name of joking & teasing of course--- when he should just get some psychiatric help.
