The guitars in this new remix are way more "real" !
The extra bite, and clarity. The extra punch on drums, more on the top end of cymbals etc, the way the bass has also been bought out more. Yet still retaining instrument separation.

One thing that is obvious is that there is more top end. This is probably where a lot of the extra bite comes from. There are some places where you can actually hear tape hiss that wasn't on the 1990 cd's, a sign to me that they have changed the EQ in preference for "reality" rather than getting rid of hiss.
