I'm not ure what you mean. the folks who were doing the listening conceded they couldn't hear a difference with Carver's modified amp. So he achieved his goal. No point in speculating about long term listening to that amp since it never happened. OTOH Carver's production version of that amp was reviewed by Stereophile and was deemed to sound good but not exactly like the reference amp. The Carver production amp designed to sound like the reference amp did not achieve nearly as good a null with the reference amp as did the Amp he rigged for the challenge.
