I'd read about it at the time in probably Audio and maybe Stereo Review, but never read the actual article. I had gotten the distinct impression that he didn't have to do very much, perhaps just a build-out resistor and cap or something along that line. It's interesting that it went a lot deeper, both in execution and evaluation.

Like Todd said, it does take one back... Twas an era where my friends had EPI201's and Phase Linear 350's. Not a tweeter lived to tell the tale...
