Since every electron has an angular spin characteristic and all atoms and molecules display a range of electromagntic spin resonance patterns due to the electrons that they possess, one can determine different subtypes from one type of molecule or metal (for instance), with respects to their ESR patterns.Molecules may display unusual patterns due to, say, free-radicals within their structure. So if a metal had unequal or "extra" ESR spin patterns, it maybe evidence of odd sub-structures within the metal.
These abnormalities MAY disrupt the overall characteristics of that metal (eg: consistent conductivity or "purity" of the metal over a set length of wire).
How was that? Better close the windows, to keep the flies out!
