C-J,I will in fact, be trying the basic 3 driver model first to see if I like how it sounds. Then "IF" I do like it I'll save up, buy the additional drivers and build the Estrella. I want such a large speaker for 2 specific reasons:
1) I have a large space. The way my audio room is setup the speakers virtually "see" the audio room 15.5' x 12.5' (with and 8' to 12' raised ceiling) the kitchen 13.5' x 12.5' the dining room 12.5' x 10.5' and the family room 15.5' x 12.5' as one giant L shaped room. There are no walls of any kind between any of these rooms!
2) I've noticed that larger multi-driver speakers have an ease with dynamics that smaller speakers simply don't have.
Last night I changed how the drivers will be setup on the panel of the Estrella. There will be the four 15" BGS40s one on top of the other and forming a woofer line source. Next to them will be two 8" B200s on the bottom, the four HEILS on top of them and then the last two B200s on the top of the HEILs forming a mid/high line source. This configuration will enable me to drop the height down to 72" instead of 96" like previously planned. I hope the picture I created in MS-Paint helps you see the design better thn my trying to explain it with words.
