What I did was leave some ambiguous phrasing in describing my "system" in Inmate Systems, which I never dreamed anyone would interpret as meaning my monitor speakers had response to 20 Hz. Silly me. Why else would you bring it up and put it the way you did?

"I have repeatedly told Tom that he has every right to like his speakers and prefer them to others, even mine (no matter how excellent they are) and I have never pretended to have any opinion as to the sound quality of his own speakers. But, he still proceeds as if I had.
You've used your speakers as a standard to compare to others, despite what you denial. You say it: "Even a direct comparison to the Aliante's showed how much the Paradigm S2 deviated from a flat & smooth response." There's no other way to interpret it. You have given no reason to believe you have any idea how flat the response of your speakers is. You have defined yours as a standard.
That stuff about comparisons to live music--well, you don't mention actually having done a live vs. recorded test with your speakers so I still take it as so much rhetorical twaddle. I don't usually bother to point that stuff out unless the person insists on it. It's exceedingly unlikely you actually did to a live vs. recorded comparison, and if you had, you surely would have mentioned it by now. You say so many silly and untrue things it's usually not worth trying to verify very much of what you say.
As for who am I trying to convince? Well, I want to give you the opportunity to learn something, though I no longer have great expectations. Mostly I try to write with other readers in mind as well. After all, it's a public forum.
Now then, what about this allegation: he supplies no evidence for it.

He just keeps on repeating the charge hoping it will stick. There is a term for that . . .
