"Keith Howard addressed this in an article in stereophile where he digitally added distortion with software he developed. He found that no additional distortion was more "euphonic" than the original unadultered recording."Unfortunately, no such thing was found.
He did not test all possible combinations of added distortion, only ones he thought might work, includng limiting the exact phase/polarity of the added components to those that Keith 'guessed' would work the best.
Aside from any lack of covering all the possibilities, or even all of the most promising possibilities, his failure to generate a positive result, based on his listening test panel of one (himself), does not constitute any sort of generally acceptable scientific proof, evidence, or even a decent hint that such things were "found".
Of course, if one is so inclined toward that kind of expectation, then go ahead and believe what you want, most people do anyway. Just don't cloth your opinion of his results in the guise of a scientific finding, or as representing scientific data, either would be a HUGE stretch from true science and the actual fact of the matter.
