Re: Solid State.

A funny quip, but the question remains: is there any objective measurement that would show tubes having an advantage over solid state?

I realize that in audio personal preference defines what sounds 'right' for each individual. However, I remain curious as to why for some people tubes sound more 'right' than solid state.

Is it that tubes do a better job masking flaws in the source recording, while solid state being generally more accurate reveal the flaws? Or, is it possible that tubes are more room friendly, not as easily overloading a room with frequency extremes? Or, what else might be a measurable benefit to tubes?
