I use the O500/O900 system at home. Critical matching with other system components is required as these are ruthlessly analytical devices, you will hear EVERYTHING on your source material, good or bad. Setup is via remote control and adjusting parameters is tricky unless you are an engineer or have an engineer friend. I use the Mac C2200 pre which is very satisfying in this context, but the C1000 tube pre is even better, though very expensive. K+H are distributed in the US by Sennheiser.
These are expensive monitors, but for musical analysis will easily outperform consumer products like Wilsons, NOLAs, Pipedreams, Kharmas, Hansens, etc. There is a review here by an AA inmate named Klaus:
