If the HK unit has an earth ground/defeat it with a 25 cent
ground lift from your hardware store
Also, keep in mind the pots on a pro amp are for the input signal
on an amp not a power output volume
Typically its ajusting gain structure by bringing the input gains
down on a power amp until you dont hear op amp noise/noise
There are methods of solving a ground loop but I have never
had an issue with using the ground lift technique on a system
and it works well
