Bass Horn Driver selection

Who makes a good 18" subwoofer driver for a scoop rear loaded horn?
I'm using a peavey 1801, and it seems to work, except at extreme volumes the motor makes quite a bit of noise. I spoke with some "experts" and they suggested a PD 1805 because the peavey cone is too tight and is going to get damaged due to the added acoustic load. I don't see any pd dealers around here, only in the UK.
What makes the driver good for horn loading rather than bass relfex/infinite baffle/tl/etc? What charactaristics should I look for?
