I used to swear my Crown CE-1000 would blow away those other amps you mentioned. I probably still would. However, I have to admit the best sounding amplifier to date (in my opinion) is a BGW Millennium series amplifier. I have a BGW Millennium 3. It offers so much in every category. The biggest Millennium, the MIL-3, retails for $1296, and can be purchased new for $785. To the poster who thinks $10,000L to $20,000L is a resonable price to pay for a power amp of any given number of channels -- wake up and realize most of us do not make multi-millions of dollars per year. The Crown Studio Reference amps or the BGW Professional amps are still probably even better.
