Need advice on VEGAS VIDEO PC sound cards

I just loaded Vegas Video on a PC. I'm looking for a decent sound card that will sync word clocks and have different sampling rates. It should be AES as well as SPDIF compatible. Has a defacto standard emerged? And don't tell me to buy PRO-TOOLS! Thanks James
