Recording options

I will be recording with a jazz quartet in a few weeks. We have the option of recording onto a Mackie hard disk system or ADAT. We will probably have to mix at a future date and maybe at a different studio. My guess is ADAT is a more universal format, and it will be easier to find a studio to do the mixing. On the other hand, the Mackie system might offer higher recording quality. The removable M90 storage is about $200, compared to the cost of a few ADATs.

Any advice on the flexibility vs. quality with THESE two options will be greatly appreciated. Please no opinions like "only analog tape" or "direct to lacquer" etc.

Thank you,
Ed
