Are luxman product good products?

Pro studio recording equipment and music production/industry.

I know someone who has 3 luxman M-113 amplifiers and a luxman TP-117 Tuner pre-amplifier. Does anyone know anything about these units. Are they quality products or just regular store shelf stuff? What do they compare to? What class category would they be in? I know absolutly nothing about this company and would like to help him out. He is trying to build a quality home theater system and doesn't know if the luxman amps are worth using or if he should go with a good 6 or 6 channel amplifier.
